Jo Persechino

RHAD MSHAA

I help people hear better by prescribing a customised treatment plan. From the initial assessment, right through to annual follow ups I’m always there to provide help, advice and support.

What makes you want to come to work?

I love to meet and engage with different people. Every day is different! I get a great sense of satisfaction from positive feedback and knowing I’ve helped make a difference to a patient’s life.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

It’s difficult to find one thing because there’s so much I love about it!

I love to see a patient’s face when they get that ‘wow’ factor and they’re suddenly hearing with clarity for the first time in years.

However, I think the greatest satisfaction I get is seeing them several months later, after I’ve helped with their rehabilitation and they’ve acclimatised to their new hearing. Patients tell me about all the things that have changed for the better… like hearing grandchildren speak clearly, going for dinner with friends, being able to engage in and follow the conversation, and not missing those special intimate moments like a wedding speech. I recall a patient who lived alone being thrilled because she hadn’t realised her cat snored!

How do you help make your customers smile?

By providing excellent customer service with a warm friendly smile every time I see them.

I try to make my consultations as welcoming, engaging and interesting as I can for every patient. Many people are surprised at the links between hearing loss and dementia. People are living longer and want healthy lifestyles. I feel privileged to be able to share with them how they can help themselves, improve their social interactions and enjoy their life with the help of new technology.
